Don’s Party rose from the smouldering ashes of one of Melbourne’s hottest 80s cover bands, R.D.O. After a 35+ year break from each other, the four original members—Don Hailes (drums - vocals), Mark Webb (bass - backing vocals), John Hutton (keys - rhythm guitar – backing vocals), and Rick Fowler (lead guitar)—caught up for a few beers and an impromptu jam. To everyone’s surprise, the magic was still there. So, we thought—why not get back on the bus? To bring some fresh energy to the mix, we welcomed the incredible Gabrielle Parbo (former lead in the Carole King Tapestry tribute) on Lead Vocals, and the multi-talented Craig Smith, also on lead vocals and multi-instrumentalist. With this new lineup, we reimagined our sound from the ground up—adding powerful rock duets and a dynamic stage presence. Between us, we’ve racked up decades of live performance, studio sessions, and touring. And we've always lived by a simple motto: "Get 'em dancing, get 'em drinking." It’s what we do best. Our go-to setlist—what we affectionately call the “Bums Off Seats” sessions—is packed with classic rock favourites guaranteed to light up any crowd. We’re fully self-contained with our own pro-level PA and lighting gear, and we’re ready to roll.
